Machine Inc. has developed the specialized capability to produce machine components for the optic industry and finish them with an anti-reflective coating.
We coat housings that contain optic-related parts and can also coat small lots of optic-related parts. This unique anti-reflective coating is applied much like a paint and is used on machine components used for optic applications. The coating we use is W3700 Water-Based Solar Chem Black, which absorbs light with no reflectance, regardless of the incidence angle of the light.

Why Anti-Reflective Coating?
When used in industrial components, where “tight light” situations are required, anti-reflective coating is used to control the amount of light, which influences the brightness and contrast of images. In items such as surveillance equipment, the presence of “ghosting” or flares compromises the efficacy of the task at hand. It is ideal for use in electro-optical instruments, defense systems, instrument dials, aircraft, satellites, or lasers.
The ability to control the contrast of an image by minimizing the amount of light will reduce, sometime entirely, any reflection otherwise produced by an untreated optic. This helps produce optimum visuals.
